Once again we slept in late and took our time getting on the road. We had to cancel our plans in Colorado Springs since Pike’s Peek was closed due to the wildfires. It was sobering to see the huge clouds of smoke from the uncontained fires knowing that people are evacuating and may soon be losing their homes.

The drive was uneventful and pretty boring. I feel bad for people that grow up in Kansas, maybe it was the area but it was definitely the most bland scenary of the trip. Tomorrow is Memphis and then home. The trip has been great but I’m definitely ready to get home to my dogs and my own bed.
